Role Overview: Provides direct patient care in a fast-paced, team-oriented 24-bed Observation Unit, handling patients requiring short-term treatment, monitoring, and recovery, often within a 24-hour stay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team, ensuring safety and quality standards.
- Educate patients and families on managing illnesses, medications, and post-treatment care.
- Manage pain, IV antibiotics, fluids, blood transfusions, post-surgical observation, and drain/tube care.
- Monitor patients with complex medical needs and those recovering from outpatient procedures such as colorectal, gynecologic, and urologic surgeries.
- Promote patient-centered care by recognizing patient preferences, cultural, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Required: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s Degree and RN licensure.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and at least 2 years of experience.
- Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills.
- Ability to work safely and maintain alertness as this is a safety-sensitive role.
