Role Overview:
Provides direct patient care within a 32-bed leukemia/lymphoma unit, focusing on patients with blood cancers, including chemotherapy, symptom management, immunosuppression, and clinical trials. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, while promoting patient and family-centered care, education, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Educate patients and families on illness management, home care, and medication administration.
- Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team and patients.
- Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient values and cultural considerations.
- Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and professional development activities.
- Maintain communication across care continuum to ensure seamless patient care.
Qualifications & Skills:
- RN license required; BSN or ADN accepted.
- Experience preferred; no prior experience necessary, but 2 years are desirable.
- Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and ability to work in a high-acuity environment.
- Commitment to safety-sensitive practices and patient-centered care.
