Role Overview:
This nursing position involves providing direct patient care within a top-ranked GI/GU surgical unit, focusing on colorectal and urology surgeries, with expertise in Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols. The role emphasizes patient and family-centered care, education on post-treatment management, and promoting safety and quality standards. You will develop and implement individualized care plans, assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, and communicate effectively across care teams. The position is safety-sensitive, requiring alertness and safe practice at all times.
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Educate patients and families about illness management, medication, and home care needs.
- Participate in safety, quality, and professional development activities.
- Collaborate with interprofessional teams to deliver coordinated care.
- Assess patient preferences and barriers, respecting emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs.
Qualifications:
- RN license required.
- Nursing Diploma or Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s preferred.
- No prior experience required; 2+ years preferred for advanced roles.
