Role Overview
This position involves providing direct patient care in a high-acuity oncology unit, focusing on leukemia and stem cell transplant patients. Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans, promoting patient and family-centered care, and educating on illness management and post-treatment needs. The role requires participation in safety, quality, and regulatory activities, as well as professional development.
Key Duties
- Develop and document care plans collaboratively, ensuring clear communication across care teams.
- Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences, values, and cultural considerations.
- Utilize critical nursing skills for comprehensive patient evaluation and intervention.
- Support safety-sensitive practices, maintaining alertness and adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
- Licenses & Certifications: Active RN license.
- Experience: No experience required; two years of experience preferred for advanced roles.
