Psychiatric Social Worker – Children Mobile Crisis Team
Provide field-based crisis mental health services to children and adolescents across NYC communities. Respond to urgent needs with on-site assessment, de-escalation, and short-term crisis intervention in homes and community settings.
Key duties
- Conduct psychosocial evaluations and determine immediate clinical needs.
- Develop and document safety plans with families and caregivers.
- Coordinate and communicate with schools and community providers.
- Connect youth to appropriate ongoing services and supports.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary crisis team.
Required qualifications (typical for the role)
- Training and licensure/certification in social work with a focus on behavioral health.
- Strong skills in crisis assessment, risk/safety planning, and de-escalation.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and ability to coordinate care.
