Charge Nurse (RN) – Surgical Unit – Night Shift

Role Overview: The RN in the Surgical Unit provides safe, compassionate, and effective patient care in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with healthcare teams to manage patients with surgical and nonsurgical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and reassess patients’ health needs across various age groups and conditions, involving patients, families, and providers.
  • Analyze assessments to determine diagnoses and expected outcomes, coordinating care plans accordingly.
  • Implement nursing interventions guided by evidence-based practices, regulations, and policies.
  • Evaluate patient outcomes through critical thinking and evidence-based knowledge.
  • Serve as a department leader in the absence of the Nurse Manager and promote bedside handoffs during shift changes.
  • Maintain ACLS certification and adhere to professional practice standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma or ADN required; BSN or MSN preferred.
  • One year of RN experience preferred; equivalent education and experience considered.
  • Current Oklahoma RN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required, with training during orientation if less than one year of experience.
