Charge Nurse (RN) – Acute Care Oncology (Part Time)

Role Overview: Provides high-quality nursing care as part of the patient care team, focusing on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs. Acts as a key communication link between patients, families, providers, and staff, ensuring patient-centered care and satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and evaluate patient conditions; assist with care plans and implement appropriate actions to promote outcomes.
  • Deliver safe, effective care following policies, documenting assessments, care provided, and incidents accurately.
  • Advocate for patients by addressing concerns, providing education, and communicating vital information to families and care team members.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, contribute ideas, and support organizational goals for quality and satisfaction.
  • Maintain professional competence through ongoing training, certifications, and participation in professional organizations.
  • Mentor and support the growth of fellow nurses, fostering a positive, collaborative work environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associates or Diploma in Nursing; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Current RN license (single state or multi-state compact).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
  • Strong communication, clinical judgment, teamwork, and commitment to professional growth.

Additional Duties: Support organizational policies, uphold confidentiality and safety standards, and participate in shared governance activities.
