Role Overview: A Certified Surgical Tech supports intraoperative surgical procedures in a main operating room setting, ensuring sterile technique, assisting with instrument preparation, handling specimens, and maintaining inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scrub duties during surgeries
- Assist in preparing and dispensing instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Conduct instrument, needle, sharps, and sponge counts
- Handle specimens and assist with dressings, casts, and patient movement
- Support decontamination and reprocessing areas when assigned
- Maintain OR inventory and supplies
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduate from an approved Surgical Technologist program or minimum 3 years of experience
- Current CPR certification required; CST preferred
