Role Overview: Provides anesthesia care in the Operating Room to support surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures under the supervision of an anesthesiologist. Responsible for preoperative evaluation, postoperative follow-up, and acting as a patient advocate, liaison, and confidant for patients, families, and physicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Anesthetizes patients, selects drugs, and manages anesthesia induction and maintenance.
- Responds to emergencies, maintains airway, and monitors patient vital signs, adjusting medications as needed.
- Communicates patient status with surgical team, interprets hemodynamic data, and ensures patient stability throughout perioperative phases.
- Conducts thorough preoperative evaluations, organizes OR setup, and performs equipment checks.
- Coordinates with staff to ensure patient safety, including positioning and equipment troubleshooting.
- Provides anesthesia support across assigned areas, accurately documents in EMR, and safely transports patients.
- Serves as a mentor, preceptor, and expert to peers, staff, residents, students, and nursing staff.
