Certified Medical Assistant – CMA – Primary Care

Role Overview: This position involves providing outpatient clinical and administrative support as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver direct patient care, including preparing patients, taking vital signs, performing EKGs, wound dressings, and assisting with minor surgical procedures.

Collect and process laboratory specimens, perform phlebotomy, and support testing and reporting.

Assist providers during examinations, support patient safety, and reinforce patient education.

Manage clerical duties such as scheduling, documentation, billing inquiries, and maintaining medical records using electronic systems.

Ensure infection control protocols, sterilization, and room setup between patients.

Participate in quality improvement, inventory management, and support new staff orientation.

Facilitate timely patient appointments, referrals, and pre-authorizations, and collect co-payments.

Qualifications & Skills: Must have a high school diploma or GED, and be certified by an approved governing body (NHA, AMT, AAMA, etc.). Preferred candidates have completed a 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma Medical Assistant program. Skills include clinical competence, communication, organization, and adherence to safety protocols.
