Certified Medical Assistant – CMA – Pediatrics

Role Overview: This position is for outpatient Certified Medical Assistants responsible for providing direct patient care and clinical support in a busy ambulatory setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians with patient preparation, vital signs, screenings, and documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Perform clinical tasks such as EKGs, wound dressings, minor surgical support, phlebotomy, and medication administration within competency.
  • Support administrative duties including patient scheduling, billing inquiries, and managing referrals and pre-authorizations.
  • Maintain infection control protocols, sterilize instruments, and ensure exam rooms are prepared and clean.
  • Contribute to patient safety, quality improvement, and team orientation efforts.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and reinforce education under provider guidance.
  • Assist with inventory management of supplies and medications, and support clinic operations as needed.

  • Qualifications & Skills: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred; active certification as CMA or RMA required, with certification from recognized associations.

    Key Skills: Excellent clinical and clerical skills, attention to detail, strong communication, infection control awareness, and ability to work as part of a team.

    Additional Info: Work typically involves clinical environment duties, with some travel required. The role emphasizes patient safety, quality care, and adherence to protocols.
