Certified Medical Assistant – CMA – Cardiology

Role Overview: This position involves providing direct patient care and clinical support in an outpatient setting as an integral team member under provider supervision.

Key Responsibilities: Preparing patients, collecting vital signs, assisting with examinations and procedures, performing EKGs, wound dressings, phlebotomy, and supporting laboratory tasks. Administrative duties include scheduling, documentation, patient follow-up, and billing support. Ensuring patient safety, privacy, and infection control protocols are followed. Facilitating timely appointments, patient education, and communication with providers. Inventory management of supplies and instruments, and supporting new staff orientation are also part of the role.

Qualifications & Skills: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential required, with certification from recognized associations (e.g., NHA, AMT). High school diploma or GED is necessary; specialty training is preferred. Ability to perform clinical and clerical tasks efficiently, follow protocols, and maintain a safe environment is essential.
