Role Overview: Provides direct patient care and clinical support in a healthcare setting, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Obtaining and documenting patient information, vital signs, and screening details using electronic medical records.
- Preparing examination and treatment rooms, assisting patients in readiness for provider visits, and maintaining patient safety and privacy.
- Performing clinical procedures such as EKGs, wound dressings, phlebotomy, and supporting minor surgical procedures.
- Preparing and administering medications per policy, collecting laboratory specimens, and completing associated paperwork.
- Executing administrative duties including scheduling, insurance referrals, co-payment collection, and documentation in medical records.
- Facilitating patient communication, reinforcing education, and assisting with new staff orientation.
- Ensuring infection control and sterilization protocols, maintaining diagnostic equipment, and supporting quality improvement efforts.
Qualifications & Skills: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from an accredited program, with certification from recognized governing bodies. Strong clinical skills, proficiency in electronic health records, and excellent communication abilities are essential.
