Lead Caregiver Role Summary

As a Lead Caregiver, you serve as a shift leader responsible for ensuring high-quality, consistent resident care while coaching and supporting the caregiving team. Your key duties include

• Leading shift assignments, managing attendance, and coordinating coverage
• Providing hands-on assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
• Mentoring caregivers on service quality, hospitality, and documentation standards
• Reviewing charting to ensure compliance with Individualized Service Plans (ISP)
• Monitoring resident health changes and communicating concerns promptly
• Supporting onboarding and mentoring new team members
• Promoting safety, compliance, and smooth shift transitions

Qualifications and skills include a high school diploma or GED, CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications. Candidates should have strong communication, delegation, and decision-making skills, with experience in assisted living, memory care, or senior care.
