Role Overview

The Lead Caregiver is a frontline leadership role responsible for providing exceptional resident care, supporting and coaching caregiving team members, and ensuring smooth shift operations. They lead shift assignments, manage attendance and coverage, assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), and review charting to ensure compliance with Individualized Service Plans (ISP). Additionally, they monitor resident changes, communicate concerns promptly, support onboarding, and promote safety and regulatory compliance. This role combines hands-on caregiving with leadership duties, modeling professionalism, accountability, and compassionate service.

Qualifications & Skills

• High School Diploma/GED, age 18+
• CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications
• Strong communication, delegation, and decision-making skills
• Experience in assisted living, memory care, or senior care

Key Responsibilities

• Lead shift activities and coordinate team coverage
• Provide hands-on support with ADLs as needed
• Coach team members on care quality, documentation, and hospitality standards
• Review and ensure accuracy of resident charting and ISPs
• Monitor resident health, communicate concerns, and support onboarding of new staff
• Promote safety, compliance, and effective shift transitions
