Role Overview
The Lead Caregiver is a frontline leader responsible for ensuring high-quality, compassionate resident care in a senior living environment.
They serve as the shift supervisor, managing shift assignments, attendance, and coverage while providing hands-on assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
They coach and support caregiving staff to maintain standards of quality, hospitality, and documentation, ensuring compliance with Individualized Service Plans (ISP).
The role involves monitoring resident health, communicating concerns promptly, and supporting onboarding and mentoring new team members.
Safety, compliance, and smooth shift transitions are key responsibilities, along with modeling professionalism, accountability, and compassionate service.
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma or GED, age 18+
- CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications
- Strong communication, delegation, and decision-making skills
- Experience in assisted living, memory care, or senior care setting
Key Duties
- Lead shift operations and manage team coverage
- Provide direct ADL support when necessary
- Coach staff on care quality, documentation, and hospitality standards
- Review resident charts and ensure care plans are followed
