The Behavioral Health & Psychiatric RN in the Emergency Department provides specialized nursing care focused on psychiatric assessments and patient well-being.
Responsible for initial psychiatric assessments, triage, mental status exams, and serving as QMP when needed.
Coordinates care with inpatient units, physicians, and support services to ensure safe admissions and appropriate bed placement.
Assists with involuntary paperwork, court hearings, and provides interventions such as IV therapy.
Participates in emergency response teams and initiates pre-certification processes after hours and on weekends.
Requires a high school diploma, current RN licensure, and at least 6 months psychiatric nursing experience.
Preferred qualifications include a BSN and additional certifications like ACLS or ENPC.
The position is full-time night shifts at the Strawberry Hill Campus, emphasizing team collaboration, safety, and quality patient care.
