Behavioral Health Assessment Licensed PRN

Role Overview: The Behavioral Health Assessor-Licensed performs comprehensive face-to-face and tele-mental health assessments, psycho-education, and interventions for patients with psychological, behavioral, or substance-related issues. Working under the supervision of the Manager of Behavioral Health, the assessor collaborates with physicians and care teams to determine appropriate care levels and develop safety and discharge plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct clinical assessments, including suicide risk evaluations, in emergency and acute care settings.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create individualized treatment plans.
  • Coordinate patient referrals, discharge planning, and legal documentation for placements.
  • Engage with patients and families to educate, support, and ensure understanding of care recommendations.
  • Document assessments, safety plans, and contacts accurately in electronic medical records.
  • Participate in service initiatives, adhere to ethical standards, and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • MSW from an accredited school or a master’s degree in professional counseling from a CACREP-accredited program.
  • Licenses including Licensure Associate Professional Counselor or Licensed Master Social Worker (GA), BLS certification, and Workplace Violence Prevention Training.
  • Minimum three years of experience working with adult/child populations, especially with behavioral health patients.
  • Effective communication skills, ability to think abstractly, and proficiency with technology including Word, Excel, and telemedicine tools.
