Role Overview:
This position is for an Assistant Nurse Manager in a high-volume, Level One Trauma Center specializing in cardiac services, including minimally invasive procedures, heart failure, transplants, thoracic, robotic, lung transplants, vascular, and endovascular surgeries. The role involves staff management, patient care oversight, and operational responsibilities within the cardiac unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage staff including hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Oversee patient care by ensuring adherence to care plans tailored to patients’ age and developmental needs.
- Coordinate operational functions such as staff productivity, staffing, budgeting, and resource management.
- Lead communication efforts, conduct performance reviews, and support staff professional development.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and hospital policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (RN required).
- 2-5 years of nursing experience; supervisor experience preferred, with 5-10 years of total experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience in OR and leadership roles is advantageous.
- Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment with alertness and professionalism.
