Assistant Nurse Manager – Medical ICU – Evening

Role Overview

This position is for an Assistant Nurse Manager leading a 42-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit. The role involves supporting the Nurse Manager in
daily operations, clinical oversight, staff development, and maintaining high standards of patient care. The ANM acts as a
mentor, resource, and clinical leader to foster a positive, collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing staff: hiring, training, performance evaluation, professional development, and staffing assignments.
  • Overseeing patient care, ensuring interventions are appropriate for patient needs, and documenting compliance.
  • Participating in budget development and adhering to operational goals.
  • Leading staff meetings, managing payroll, and ensuring staffing efficiency.
  • Conducting performance reviews, addressing disciplinary actions, and promoting staff productivity.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, RN license, 2+ years RN experience, and safety-sensitive work capabilities.
  • Preferred: 5-10 years of experience, less than 2 years of supervisor experience, ICU experience, and leadership skills.
