Assistant Nurse Manager – Emergency Room

Role Overview:

Provides leadership and manages patient care within the Emergency Department, ensuring quality service and operational efficiency. Responsible for staff recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and professional development, while overseeing departmental staffing, budgets, and productivity. Coordinates patient care plans based on assessments, diagnoses, and treatments, ensuring they meet patients’ developmental and age-specific needs. Manages equipment maintenance, procurement, and statistical reporting to support department functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervises staff, including hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Develops and manages departmental staffing, budget adherence, and responds to operational changes.
  • Ensures delivery of patient care according to care plans, documenting interventions appropriately.
  • Prepares staff schedules, monitors productivity, and manages payroll processes.
  • Leads staff meetings, communicates departmental updates, and supports professional growth.
  • Maintains compliance with policies and standards, fostering a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Experience: 2-5 years for RN with Associate’s; 5-10 years with Bachelor’s; supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Licenses & Certifications: Valid RN license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Emergency Room or Critical Care experience is preferred.
  • Leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively.
