Ambulatory Surgery – Clinical Nurse

Role Overview: Provides direct patient care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards. Promotes patient and family-centered care, educates on illness management, and ensures safety and quality compliance. Develops and documents individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team and patients, considering emotional, cultural, and population-specific needs. Uses critical nursing skills to evaluate physical and psychosocial needs and communicates care plans across the continuum. Maintains a safe environment and adheres to safety-sensitive requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Educate patients and families on post-treatment care and medication management.
  • Participate in activities promoting safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate personalized care plans.
  • Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs using critical nursing skills.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Nursing Diploma/Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Current RN license required.
  • No prior experience necessary; <2 years experience preferred.
  • Critical thinking, communication, and patient education skills.

Additional Details: The role involves a 4-day work week, with one call day per week and every 8th weekend call requirement. Response time for calls is 45 minutes. Experience in Critical Care, Emergency Department, or PACU is preferred.
