Role Overview: Provides patient care in collaboration with physicians, demonstrating autonomy in evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. Orders and interprets diagnostic tests, prescribes medications, and performs procedures within the scope of practice. Acts as a patient advocate by delivering safe, ethical care and health education tailored to the patient’s understanding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and establish presumptive diagnoses, developing treatment plans.
- Document thoroughly in electronic medical records and prescribe appropriate therapies based on evidence-based practice.
- Adjust or discontinue medications as needed, reporting significant risks to the collaborating physician.
- Perform procedures within legal scope and communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff.
- Follow policies and guidelines to meet organizational goals and ensure safe, quality care.
Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant required; Master’s Degree preferred. Proficiency in patient assessment, diagnostic interpretation, and clinical procedures. Strong communication skills, ethical judgment, and ability to work collaboratively in a clinical environment.
