Role Overview:
This position involves providing direct patient care in an acute care medical-surgical unit, managing a diverse patient population including occasional trach patients. Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while promoting patient and family-centered care, safety, and quality standards.
Key duties include developing individualized care plans, educating patients and families on illness management, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The role emphasizes critical nursing skills, cultural competence, and proactive communication across care continuum. It is a safety-sensitive position requiring alertness and adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred)
- Licenses: RN license required
- Experience: No experience required; 2+ years preferred
- Skills: Critical thinking, patient education, teamwork, communication, cultural sensitivity
