Role Overview:
This nursing position involves providing direct patient care on a 38-bed acute care medicine unit, managing patients with complex clinical conditions such as blood disorders, endocrine issues, heart and kidney failure, and infectious diseases. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, including education on illness management, medication administration, and post-discharge needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Promoting a healing environment through patient and family education.
- Participating in safety, quality, and regulatory activities, and engaging in professional development.
- Developing and documenting individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team and patients.
- Assessing physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient values and cultural considerations.
- Maintaining safety and alertness as this is a safety-sensitive position.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s degree and RN licensure.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing and at least 2 years of experience.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
