Role Overview:
This position involves providing direct patient care in a 38-bed Acute Care Medicine unit, managing patients with complex clinical issues such as blood dyscrasias, endocrine disorders, heart and renal failure, and infectious diseases. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, including patient and family education on illness management, medication, and post-discharge needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Promoting a healing environment through education and support
- Participating in safety, quality, and regulatory activities
- Developing, implementing, and documenting individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team and patients
- Assessing physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient values and cultural considerations
- Ensuring effective communication across care teams
Qualifications and Skills:
- Required: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s degree, valid RN license
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, with at least 2 years of experience
- Competent in critical nursing skills, patient safety, and professional development
