Role Overview: The Pharmacist provides high-quality pharmaceutical care by developing, recommending, and monitoring evidence-based pharmacotherapy plans to optimize patient outcomes and safety. Responsibilities include interpreting physician medication orders, reviewing medication profiles for safety and effectiveness, advising healthcare teams, and ensuring proper medication dosing and documentation.
Key Duties:
- Deliver pharmaceutical care tailored to specific patient care areas.
- Coordinate resources for efficient, cost-effective care delivery.
- Interpret and clarify medication orders, review drug interactions, and recommend formulary alternatives.
- Consult with medical staff on drug therapy issues and monitor laboratory results.
- Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and discharge medication counseling.
- Participate in rounds, calculate drug dosages, and verify provider orders.
- Prepare compounded and sterile medications following aseptic techniques.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians, students, and interns, ensuring accuracy.
- Collaborate with medical and nursing teams to resolve pharmacy-related issues.
- Assist in updating departmental policies and ensuring compliance with standards.
Qualifications & Skills: A Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy is required; a Doctoral Degree is preferred. The role demands strong clinical judgment, communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a clinical environment.
