Acute Care Clinical Pharmacist – Pediatrics

Role Overview: The Pharmacist provides safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy, developing and monitoring evidence-based care plans focused on patient outcomes and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pharmaceutical care within designated patient care areas.
  • Interpret, clarify, and review medication orders for safety, effectiveness, and formulary compliance.
  • Assess patient medication profiles for contraindications, interactions, and adherence issues.
  • Consult with healthcare professionals on drug therapy problems and monitor laboratory results.
  • Provide drug information, patient discharge consultations, and round with medical teams.
  • Calculate dosages, verify orders, and prepare sterile and compounded medications.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, technicians, students, and interns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with medical and nursing staff to resolve pharmacy-related issues.
  • Assist in updating departmental policies and ensure resource management.

Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy required; Doctoral Degree preferred. Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, excellent communication, and teamwork skills are essential.
