Acute Care Clinical Pharmacist – Emergency Department

Role: The Pharmacist is responsible for providing safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy, developing evidence-based care plans focused on patient outcomes and quality of life.

Key Duties: They interpret and clarify physicians’ medication orders, review patient medication profiles for safety and interactions, and recommend formulary alternatives. They collaborate with healthcare professionals, monitor laboratory results, and provide patient discharge consultations. Additional responsibilities include making rounds, calculating drug dosages, verifying orders, preparing sterile medications, supervising pharmacy staff, and coordinating pharmacy services within the healthcare team.

Qualifications & Skills: A Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (required) with a Doctoral Degree preferred. Candidates should possess strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and knowledge of pharmacotherapy, drug interactions, and aseptic techniques. Leadership and supervisory abilities are essential for managing pharmacy staff and ensuring compliance with departmental standards.

This role typically involves working in a clinical environment, adhering to organizational policies, and contributing to departmental policy review and revisions. The pharmacist works closely with medical and nursing staff to resolve pharmacy-related issues and promote professional competence.
