Acute Care Clinical Pharmacist

Role Overview: The Pharmacist provides safe, effective, and cost-efficient pharmaceutical care, developing and monitoring evidence-based pharmacotherapy plans to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pharmaceutical care tailored to specific patient care areas.
  • Interpret and clarify physicians’ medication orders, review medication profiles for safety, interactions, and contraindications.
  • Assess prescribing practices, suggest formulary alternatives, and consult with medical staff on drug therapy issues.
  • Provide drug information and patient discharge medication counseling.
  • Participate in rounds, calculate dosages, verify orders, and prepare sterile or compounded medications.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians, students, and interns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to resolve pharmacy-related issues and assist in policy review and updates.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (required); Doctoral Degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, drug interactions, and clinical monitoring.
  • Excellent communication, supervision, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to interpret laboratory results and pharmacokinetic data.

Work Environment & Standards: Typically performed in a clinical setting, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and standards for quality and safety.
