Acute Care Clinical Pharmacist

Role Overview: The Pharmacist delivers safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy, developing and monitoring evidence-based care plans focused on patient outcomes and quality of life.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pharmaceutical care, interpret medication orders, and advise healthcare professionals on drug therapy issues.
  • Review patient medication profiles for safety, effectiveness, and interactions.
  • Recommend formulary alternatives and consult with medical staff regarding drug therapy.
  • Perform patient discharge consultations and participate in medical rounds.
  • Calculate dosages based on pharmacokinetic data and verify proper dispensing.
  • Prepare compounded and sterile medications using aseptic techniques.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians, students, and interns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate resources, maintain stock levels, and assist with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with medical and nursing teams to resolve pharmacy-related issues.

Work is conducted in a clinical environment, with accountability for adhering to organizational policies and standards.


Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy required; Doctoral Degree preferred.
