Acute Care Clinical Pharmacist

Role Overview: The Pharmacist delivers safe, effective, and cost-efficient pharmaceutical care, developing and monitoring evidence-based pharmacotherapy plans to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pharmaceutical care tailored to specific patient care areas, coordinating resources for timely and appropriate services.
  • Interpret and clarify physicians’ medication orders, review medication profiles for safety and interactions, and recommend formulary alternatives.
  • Advise healthcare professionals on drug therapy issues, monitor laboratory results, and provide patient discharge consultations.
  • Calculate drug dosages, verify prescriptions, and prepare sterile and compounded medications using aseptic techniques.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians, students, and interns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to resolve pharmacy-related issues, participate in policy review, and contribute to departmental improvements.

Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy required; Master’s preferred. Strong clinical, communication, and supervisory skills are essential, along with knowledge of pharmacokinetics and medication safety.
