Clinician – Emergency Department (Behavioral Health)
Provide rapid behavioral health assessment for patients with acute mental health and substance use needs. Conduct psychosocial evaluations, perform suicide and risk assessments, and deliver crisis intervention. Develop individualized safety plans and care/discharge plans to support safe transitions of care.
Key duties
- Assess behavioral health needs promptly and accurately
- Complete risk and suicide screening, identifying protective and risk factors
- Provide crisis intervention and develop safety/behavioral care plans
- Coordinate discharge planning and connect patients with appropriate community resources
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and community providers to ensure continuity of care
