Pediatric Oncology Registered Nurse provides age-appropriate bedside care for children receiving oncology treatments in an acute-care setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications, vaccinations, blood draws, IV drips, and transfusions following pediatric guidelines
- Closely monitor vital signs and assess treatment response
- Assist providers with exams, procedures, and diagnostic tests
- Educate and support patients and families, addressing questions and care needs
- Coordinate with the multidisciplinary care team to ensure safe, effective care
- Document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient status accurately
Qualifications & Skills
- Active Registered Nurse licensure
- Strong clinical assessment and pediatric patient care skills
- Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration, transfusions, and phlebotomy
- Ability to monitor for changes in condition and respond appropriately
- Compassionate communication and patient/family education skills
- Detail-oriented documentation and teamwork
