Operating Room (OR) Nurse
Provides direct operating room nursing care in an acute care hospital setting. Assesses patients, develops and implements individualized nursing care plans, and evaluates patient outcomes in collaboration with the surgical team under the direction of the director or charge nurse. Completes required documentation and supports safe, efficient perioperative care.
Key Duties
- Perform preoperative and intraoperative patient assessments
- Create, implement, and revise care plans based on patient needs
- Evaluate outcomes and communicate changes to the care team
- Assist with delivery of safe perioperative nursing care
- Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes
- Support unit operations during float assignments based on competency
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong OR/perioperative nursing competencies
- Ability to assess, prioritize, and manage patient care needs
- Proficiency in care planning and outcome evaluation
- Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated competency-based readiness for float assignments
