Clinical Nurse – MRI
Provide specialized, patient-centered nursing care for individuals undergoing MRI exams. Perform comprehensive patient assessments, initiate IV access, and administer medications and contrast as ordered. Monitor patients before, during, and after imaging to support safety and optimal outcomes.
Ensure strict MRI safety protocols and readiness throughout the exam process. Educate patients and families on procedures and preparation, address questions, and support patient comfort and understanding. Collaborate closely with radiologists, MRI technologists, and the multidisciplinary care team.
Key duties include:
- Conduct patient assessments related to MRI readiness
- Start IVs and administer medications and contrast
- Provide continuous monitoring and post-imaging follow-up
- Maintain MRI safety and compliance with departmental protocols
- Educate patients and families and support informed participation
- Coordinate care with radiology and nursing teams
