Key duties
- Assess, treat, and monitor patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions
- Administer oxygen and aerosol therapies
- Manage ventilators and support mechanical ventilation needs
- Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results as part of the care plan
- Respond to rapid response and code situations
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams
- Educate patients and families and support respiratory care goals
- Follow evidence-based protocols and maintain compassionate, safe, ethical care
Qualifications & skills
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credential
- Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
- Proficiency with oxygen/aerosol therapies and ventilator management
- Ability to perform and support respiratory diagnostic testing
- Composure and readiness to act during emergency responses
- Effective teamwork, communication, and patient/family education
