Role Overview:
The Respiratory Therapist provides patient respiratory care by applying critical thinking skills, completing NBRC examinations to earn the CRT credential, and fostering a caring environment to promote health and healing. Key duties include assessing patients, developing, implementing, and evaluating care plans, administering medications, and delivering health education to patients and families. The role involves participating in efforts to improve healthcare delivery, collaborating with team members, providing clinical leadership, and supporting ongoing professional growth.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Current state license required; CRT certification and BLS certification within 14 days of hire are mandatory; ACLS preferred.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; hospital experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic computer skills with Windows and Microsoft Office are necessary.
- Completion of hospital and departmental orientation is required.
