Position: Clinical Nurse Coordinator – 4E Med/Surg/Tele
Location: Chicago, IL
Role Overview: The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) facilitates unit operations, acts as a clinical resource, and ensures effective communication among staff and medical teams. Responsibilities include coordinating admissions, transfers, and discharges; conducting patient rounds; managing staffing, assignments, and coverage; participating in quality improvement initiatives; and supervising staff performance and orientation. The CNC also participates in emergency response teams, reports clinical events, and supports problem-solving to enhance patient care.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires a nursing degree (Bachelor preferred), at least 2 years of staff nursing experience, current Illinois RN license, CPR certification, and clinical expertise. Specialty certification within 2 years is preferred. The role demands strong clinical skills, effective communication, leadership, delegation, and critical thinking abilities.
Key Duties: Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, resource management, staff supervision, patient safety, and participating in quality and safety initiatives. The CNC reports to the Unit Manager and supports staff development and unit efficiency.
