Job Summary
Under supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician, performs specialized technical duties in the surgical or procedural environment.
Assists the surgical team by operating equipment and instrumentation to maintain a safe operating room environment, ensuring availability and proper functioning of necessary equipment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program
Experience
- Required: None specified
- Preferred: One year of experience as a Surgical Technician
Certification/Licensure
- Surgical Technician Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or by the National Center for Competency Testing or from the United States Military or U.S. Public Health Service (only one required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (must be obtained within ninety days of start date)
