Role Overview: Provides professional nursing care in a Level 2E Special Care Nursery, assessing and monitoring neonatal patients, recognizing changes, planning and evaluating care, and documenting observations. Delegates tasks appropriately and collaborates with the healthcare team to achieve unit goals.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based nursing care aligned with hospital policies and Illinois regulations.
- Utilize critical thinking to assess patient conditions, monitor progress, and adapt care plans.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to staff members and function effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate Degree or higher in Nursing; Bachelor’s Degree required within five years if holding an Associate Degree.
- Current Illinois RN licensure and BLS certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within six months of hire.
- Preferably, two years of NICU RN Level 3 experience.
