Role Overview: Responsible for providing respiratory therapy to patients across all age groups, following physician orders and hospital policies.
Key Duties:
- Assess patients to determine appropriate treatment methods.
- Administer respiratory therapy and monitor patient responses, with special attention to neonatal and pediatric cases.
- Document treatments, equipment maintenance, and quality control activities.
- Transcribe verbal or phone orders accurately.
- Communicate treatment procedures clearly to patients and families.
- Provide education to patients and staff.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential or registry-eligible status.
- Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner license within 6 months of employment.
- Current CPR certification; ACLS, NRP, and PALS required within 24 months.
