Position Overview: Provides professional nursing care in a Level 2E Special Care Nursery, following the Illinois Registered Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. Utilizes critical thinking to assess patient conditions, recognize changes, plan and evaluate care, monitor progress, and document observations. Delegates appropriate tasks to staff and collaborates as a team member to achieve unit goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate Degree or higher in Nursing; Bachelor’s Degree required within five years if only an Associate Degree is held.
- Current Illinois RN licensure and BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within six months of employment.
- Preferably, at least 2 years of NICU RN Level 3 experience.
