Role: Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT)
Responsibilities include: Assessing patients’ respiratory needs, developing and implementing treatment plans, performing therapeutic modalities (e.g., aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, secretion management), managing mechanical ventilators, providing patient and family education, assisting with airway management, monitoring via non-invasive devices, and supporting intra-hospital transport. The role involves adhering to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and participating in fiberoptic bronchoscopy procedures, invasive monitoring, and discharge planning. The therapist may serve as a Shift Coordinator and preceptor for students.
Qualifications and Skills: Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy, current ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications, and ability to perform complex respiratory assessments and interventions. Strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to protocols are essential.
