Role Overview:
This position is for a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist supporting outpatient clinical services within an academic medical center. The role involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to optimize medication therapy, manage chronic specialty disease states, and improve access to medications. The pharmacist delivers direct patient care, contributes to program development, quality initiatives, and serves as a clinical resource for providers and patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient health status and medication profiles to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Monitor therapy progress, document activities, and communicate effectively.
- Participate in professional development, research, and quality improvement activities.
- Educate and mentor pharmacy staff, residents, and students.
- Identify and implement drug cost reduction strategies.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably 2-5 years.
- Licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh).
- Experience in Medication Therapy Services in Missouri preferred.
- Strong clinical, collaborative, and communication skills.
