Job Summary
Performs specialized technical duties in surgical or procedural settings under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician. Assists the surgical team by managing equipment and instrumentation to ensure a safe operating room environment, with all necessary equipment available and functioning properly.
Qualifications
- Education
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program
- Experience
- Preferred: One year of experience as a Surgical Tech
- Certification/Licensure
- Required: Surgical Technician Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting OR Surgical Technician Certification by the National Center for Competency Testing OR Military/Public Health Service Surgical Technology Program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, to be obtained within ninety days of hire
