Role Overview:
The Medical Assistant (MA) provides clinical support under the supervision of a physician or licensed provider, performing duties to promote patient health and ensure smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, obtaining vital signs and patient history, and accurately documenting information. The MA performs clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, point-of-care testing, and injections, as well as triaging calls and relaying test results with proper medical terminology.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- No prior experience necessary; certifications in the area of expertise preferred
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience and CPR certification
- Strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are essential
Key Duties:
- Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms
- Gather patient information and perform clinical procedures
- Assist in patient triage and communication with providers
