- Handle specimens properly, confirm identification, and use appropriate accessioning procedures.
- Recognize and resolve discrepancies in patient orders, perform instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control.
- Replenish reagents and supplies, follow reporting protocols across computerized, verbal, and manual systems.
- Navigate multiple computer applications, assist in training new employees, and participate in ongoing education to maintain current knowledge.
Qualifications include: a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, successful completion of an accredited Medical Technology/Science program or equivalent experience, and certification (such as ASCP).
