We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform and report various analyses from multiple specimen sources in a clinical laboratory environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining productivity and managing multiple work processes efficiently.
- Proper handling and identification of specimens, using appropriate accessioning procedures.
- Recognizing discrepancies on patient orders and resolving issues.
- Performing instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control.
- Replenishing reagents and supplies, following established protocols.
- Following reporting procedures via computerized, verbal, and manual methods.
- Accessing multiple computer applications and assisting in training new employees.
- Participating in educational activities to stay current in the field.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of an ASCP/NAACLS-accredited Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science program, or equivalent certification and experience.
- Ability to perform initial and ongoing competency exams.
