Role Overview:
This position provides comprehensive vascular access care, including placement, assessment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of devices such as peripheral IVs, midlines, and PICC lines using traditional techniques and ultrasound guidance. Training is offered to develop proficiency in ultrasound-based procedures. The role involves patient education, ensuring safety, and promoting quality care while adhering to nursing standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform vascular access procedures and maintain devices to ensure patency and functionality.
- Assess patient needs, develop and document individualized care plans collaboratively with the healthcare team and patients.
- Educate patients and families on care management, post-treatment needs, and medication administration.
- Participate in safety, quality improvement, and professional development activities.
- Contribute to hospital policies and product selection related to vascular access.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Required: RN license, Nursing Diploma or Associate’s degree, with preferred Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in vascular access, PICC placement, or ultrasound IV training is preferred.
- Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and patient communication skills.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
